Global Runners from 26 states and 15 countries

We met our fundraising goal
28 runners who’ve participated more than 10 times
Since 2006, you and each of the over 45,000 runners have helped us provide daily access to clean water for an equal number of Burundians. Run For The Water is only part of the story. Combined with our other events and your generous donations 62 water systems have been built, bringing clean water to more than 119,050 people. When a community gets a clean water system, they get more than clean water. They also get improved health, better educational and economic opportunities, safe communities, and hope for a brighter future. As we gather this morning,
take a breath of gratitude,
for this beautiful day and for this community.
Honor the goals that have drawn you to this moment.
You might aim to run fast or walk with friends,
or show your children what it means to work for a greater good.
All of these goals will move us forward together.
When the hills rise up before you,
spread joyful encouragement to your fellow racers.
When your legs are heavy and tired,
focus on your own joy, dig deep and call forth your inner strength.
Today each of you represents a giving heart.
Each of you helps a new day dawn,
a day filled with hope and action.
Each of you builds individual effort into something big and bold and important.
Your goal today is forever part of the goal to bring clean water
and clear futures
to the people of Burundi.
On this glorious morning,
